Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar (1925–2020)
Dr Allama Khalid Maḥmūd (17 October 1925 – 14 May 2020) was a Pakistani Sunni Islamic scholar[1] who served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He established the Islamic Academy and City Jamia Masjid in Manchester, England, and was best known for his works related to the Finality of the Prophethood.[2]
Education
Maḥmūd studied Islamic Sciences from Muhammad Zakariya Kandhlawi, Shamsul Haq Afghani, Shabbir Ahmad Usmani, and Badre Alam Meerthi.
He received his PhD degree in 1970 from the University of Birmingham.[3] He also completed his master's degrees in Arabic, Persian, Philosophy & Theology, also achieving an LLB in Law.[citation needed]
Career
He served as a senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (Shariat Appellate Bench).[4] He was also director of the Islamic Academy of Manchester UK.[5] He founded a purpose-
