PUTRAJAYA: The total assets declared by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s two sons to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) amounted to over RM1bil, says its chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir and Mirzan Mahathir declared their assets to him personally, he said.

He said Mokhzani’s assets came up to about RM1bil.

“There are two parts here.

His personal value was about RM360mil; with the rest comprising shares and other assets while taking into account their liabilities.

“These are the assessments and analyses made by our officers towards the declared assets,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

Azam said Mirzan’s assets amounted to about RM246.2mil with a personal value of RM120mil.

“They complied with the requests from the investigation officer and me to declare their assets, including shares.
